Estimator

Our client is a well-known high-end restoration contractor based in South London. They provide bespoke fibrous plastering finishes heritage restoration services to commercial and high-end residential properties across the UK. Due to a strong forward order book confirmed for 2024, they are in need of an Estimator to join the team. As Estimator, you will be responsible for quoting preparing accurate estimates for restorative projects across London the UK. The successful candidate would have 1-3 years #39; experience in an estimating role, and ideally a background in bespoke architectural projects, high end residential/commercial fitout and/or prestigious fit-out projects. This role presents an opportunity to work on some of the most prestigious projects/buildings in the country, and would suit a junior level candidate looking to develop and progress. Conduct site visits and consultations as needed to gather additional information and assess project conditions. Utilise industry-standard estimating techniques and software to quantify project costs, including materials, labour, equipment, and overhead expenses. Analyse pricing data and vendor quotes to determine the most cost-effective solutions while maintaining quality standards. Prepare comprehensive and competitive proposals for prospective clients, incorporating detailed cost breakdowns, project timelines, and deliverables. Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to tailor proposals to client needs and objectives. Coordinate the bidding process for public and private sector projects, ensuring timely submission of accurate and compliant bids. Review bid documents and specifications, clarifying requirements and identifying potential risks or discrepancies. Identify opportunities for value engineering and cost optimisation throughout the project lifecycle. Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to explore alternative materials, methods, and approaches to achieve cost savings without compromising quality. Evaluate project risks and uncertainties, such as market fluctuations, supply chain disruptions, and regulatory changes, and incorporate risk factors into cost estimates and contingency plans.Position Requirements: Estimator 1-3 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably within the high-end fit-out or architectural industry. Proficiency in construction estimating software. Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. Excellent communication and negotiation abilities, with a customer-focused approach to problem-solving.
