SEN Core Subject Home Tutor | Alvechurch | GBP26.62 per hour | 15 Hours per week SMART Education currently have a vacancy for a Home Tutor to support a KS4 pupil with SEN needs present, who has been out of education for over a year and therefore requiring tuition to support with core subjects. The successful tutor will need to be familiar in working with SEN needs, managing challenging behaviour, and supporting with speech and language development delay. You will be working 1:1 with this young person therefore it is vital that you are confident in your ability to differentiate and deliver 1:1 tuition lessons to meet the young person rsquo;s needs. You will be provided with 1-2 hours of planning and preparation time per week. You will be required to: Create a calm and positive learning environment Build a strong rapport with both the young person and their families Planning lesson plans and activities for the tuition sessions to ensure that the curriculum is covered sufficiently Support a young person with complex needs; differentiating lesson/activities Complete a home tuition report after sessions that outlines progress of the student Person Specification: A creative and versatile teaching style Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS / QTLS / PGCE), Subject Specialism or extensive tuition experience supporting with English, Maths and/or Science Experience, Knowledge and Understanding of working with children/young people with additional learning needs (SEN/SEMH/ASD/Speech and Language Delay) Experience, Knowledge and Understanding of working with disengaged young people or looked after children An enhanced DBS on the update service or the willingness to acquire one Experience, Knowledge and Understanding of Safeguarding practices SMART Education recruits into Teaching Jobs in Birmingham and across the West Midlands, and into Home Tutor jobs across the UK.
