One of our local authority clients are currently recruiting for a Category Officer on a permanent basis. Main Purpose of Post/Job Summary The successful post holder will undertake a wide variety of work across both the Local Government Litigation Team and Property Contracts Team. Main responsibilities will be to undertake all aspects of administration relating to legal activities, along with providing support to the Shared Legal Services Manager and Team Leaders and to assist with the operation of the council rsquo;s Deeds Room including recording, storing and retrieving deeds. They will assist in providing an efficient and timely administrative service for the council rsquo;s Legal Services Team. Duties and Responsibilities * To undertake all aspects of administration relating to legal activities. * To assist with the re-organisation of the council rsquo;s Deeds Room including the recording, storage and retrieval of deeds and documents * To provide support to the Legal Services Manager and Team Leaders * To assist in the organisation and administration involved in the provision of a high-quality legal service. * To support the council rsquo;s Legal Services Team in producing paperwork relating to all aspects of the legal function including providing copies of legal documentation. * To support the council rsquo;s Monitoring Officer and Deputy Monitoring Officers by providing secure and confidential administration relating to the operation of the standards processes and Members rsquo; Code of Conduct. * To record and file deeds and documents in the council rsquo;s Deeds Room. * To open and close files in the Legal Services Team rsquo;s case management system * To undertake any other duties that the Legal Services Manager or Team Leaders may determine which are compatible with the responsibility levels of the post. * To ensure that service delivery complies with current regulations, accepted professional standards, the council #39;s policies and procedures and appropriate legislation (including legislation on data protection, equalities, health and safety and safeguarding children and vulnerable adults).
