Assistant quality manager

Alexander Steele are working on an exciting opportunity with a global food manufacturer who supply quality food products to retailers and food Service. The business is looking to appoint a Technical Officer into their food safety function at their site in Dublin. Reporting to the Senior Quality Manager, the Assistant Quality Manager will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance and development of the food safety systems and the company #39;s BRC standards. On offer: * Salary is euro;42,000 to euro;45,000 doe * Enhanced annual leave * Enhanced company pension * Working Mon - Fri on-site * Excellent career development opportunities Key responsibilities; * Work with and support NPD by coordinating the introduction of new products from trials to first production and by monitoring continued production of new Products. * Support the procurement teams with the introduction of new suppliers or ingredients to the business. * Develop Quality Plans for new products and ensure specifications are suitable for successful production. * Ensure the relevant staff are trained and aware of the specification of any new products. * Updating and maintenance of QMS and Allergen Management System. * Reporting on Customer Complaints. * Carry out GMP audits daily, monitor product quality, be proactive in carrying out root cause analysis for quality or food safety issues. * Management and completion of Internal audits and actively participate in preparation and on the day handling of customer audits / F.P.R. rsquo;s / Visits/ GMP on the line * Managing the Daily Product review and actioning any issues. * Updates Product quality standards and ensure all staff are aware of changes. * Managing of Calibration and maintenance of equipment. * Working proactively with other departments within manufacturing to resolve any issues that may arise. * Deputise in the absence of the Quality Manager on QA issues. * Managing of completion of external micro testing, nutritional allergen programme. * Supplier auditing as per existing schedule, including visiting sites, writing audit report and follow up on corrective action Candidate requirement; * A recognised qualification in a food / Science discipline or equivalent work experience * At least 2 years Quality / Technical experience within a food manufacturing environment. * Good working knowledge of BRC and retailer standards.
