Senior buyer

Anderson Knight is currently engaged with a key client who is known across the UK Ireland. Due to further growth, our client is seeking to recruit the position of Senior Buyer to join their expanding function in the Central Belt. The key components of the role will be encouraging procurement change including the utilisation of eSourcing, and engagement across the business. The key duties and responsibilities will include: bull; Lead and coordinate the issuing of tenders and evaluation of returns bull; Identify new suppliers, service providers to create competitiveness and market tension for the relevant business function bull; Develop effective Supplier Relationship Management, tailored for each business unit. bull; Assess suppliers capability to meet contractual needs pre-contract; measure their performance during the contracting period and work with them to identify challenges whilst looking for improvements bull; Management of small team of 2 and lead the demand planner and spot buyer to ensure supplier and internal stakeholder relationships are optimised bull; Provide support to the HVO Delivery Plan bull; Management of a small number but high value critical suppliers bull; Analysis of supplier proposals, negotiating contract terms through to supplier quarterly performance reviews of K{PI #39;s and SLA #39;s The ideal candidate will possess the following key skills: bull; Experience of negotiating best value and managing supply and customer contracts for long term relationships bull; Commercially astute, understands commercial aspects including negotiation, pricing strategies, and financial management bull; High level of customer service skills bull; Ability to influence stakeholders and collaborate with all business functions bull; Strategic Mindset bull; Currently working towards completion of their MCIPS In return our client offers a unique opportunity for excellent career progression, whilst initially you will be responsible for a team of 2, this should diversify into a larger team thru time.
