Field service engineer

VAC: 508 Multiskilled Field Service Engineer Ideal Location: Midlands/Northampton/Cambridge covering nationally. Basic Salary GBP38,000 -GBP40,000 (Neg) OTE GBP53K including average overtime, paid door to door Package: Company van and fuel card, Company healthcare scheme, Pension, Employee Assistance Programme, company credit card, all PPE and tooling. Due to expansion, there is now an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical / Mechanical Engineer to join their dynamic team. Role Responsibilities will include: * Travelling to customer sites, diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults and fixing industrial shredding machinery to ensure that customer downtime is kept to a minimum. * Inspections and services of shredders and recycling machinery to ensure that customer downtime is avoided, and throughput levels maintained. * Installing and commissioning shredder machinery newly delivered to customers so that they are operational as soon as possible. * Providing basic shredder operation and maintenance training to customer operators to ensure their ability to use shredders safely and effectively. * Interpreting schematics, manuals, and other specifications to ensure that all services and repairs are carried out in accordance with manufacturers rsquo; instructions. * Frequent overnight stays (on average at least 3 nights per week) * Weekend work may be required and, on a Rota, basis. Essential Experience / Skills: * Apprentice trained Electrical / Mechanical Engineer (Multi- Skilled) * Single or 3 phase Electrical qualifications experience is essential. * Skilled in diagnosing and fixing electrical and mechanical machinery faults. * Worked with gearboxes and bearings. * Experience Installing and commissioning industrial machinery. * Full UK driving licence (ideally clean) * Flexibility is required in relation to working hours to ensure that jobs are finished. Advantageous: * Experience of welding and burning. * Possession of a forklift licence are desirable but not essential. Additional Package Information: * 40 hours per week - Monday to Thursday 08.00 to 17:00 and Friday 08:00-15:30 (45 mins for lunch each day) * 21 days rsquo; holiday pro rata (January ndash; December holiday year) plus your birthday and bank holidays. This will increase by one day per year up to a maximum of 25 days rsquo; holiday plus birthday and bank holidays. * Specialist tools provided and a company van to complete your role effectively. * Company healthcare scheme * Pension * Employee Assistance Programme * A company laptop mobile phone, credit card and fuel card will be given to you to cover all company expenses while working away or on site. * A subsistence allowance of GBP25.00/night is also provided, and all accommodation costs will also be covered by the company.
