Tax advisor

Sue Ross Recruitment are delighted to be working with a leading regional firm of chartered accountants who are looking to recruit a Tax Adviser to join their successfully established team. We are looking for a Tax Adviser to work within our clients Owner Managed Business Team (OMB) to help with the overall growth of the team and firm. You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of OMB clients including relationship management, opportunity generation and WIP management to within companies rsquo; acceptable levels. This will include: * Review of OMB Self-Assessment Tax Returns, forms P11D, ERS returns, CT61s and Capital Gains Tax Returns following company procedures and to HMRC deadlines (with support from graduate trainees in the Compliance team members of the OMB team) * Review OMB corporation tax computations prepared by accounts team. Approve computations and returns for submission to HM Revenue Customs * Assist with the Preparation (on occasion) of OMB corporation tax computations for key clients including key tax issues reports. * Maintain and review tax compliance registers regularly, with the tax compliance team, to record job progress and ensure statutory deadlines met. Ensure relevant claims and elections are considered and made within statutory deadlines * Monitor cases where tax repayments and credits are due from HM Revenue Customs * Supporting the OMB team with ad hoc tax queries when they arise * Be the first point of contact for OMB clients for tax related matters * Supporting the OMB Directors with tax queries and projects where required * Identify, scope for and lead projects on more straightforward tax advisory work, for example structure queries, including company structure and preparing/actioning any changes needed e.g. share restructures, inserting holding companies etc, liaising with the Tax Technical Director where required. * Advising on Incorporations of sole trade and partnership businesses * Advising OMB clients on annual Remuneration planning * Assisting the Tax Planning and Private Client teams with more complex projects on an ad-hoc basis * Liaise with other departments across the firm and HM Revenue Customs, carry out administrative duties and update clients regularly * Provide the best levels of client service and communication * Build relationships with clients in a professional manner, identifying opportunities for other services * Participate in team development, mentoring and support, in particular in respect of the development of graduates in the tax team more widely * Any ad hoc duties as requested by the firm Unfortunately, due to the number of applications we receive, we are unable to provide individual feedback to all applicants.
