Sample management lead administrator

Sample Management Lead Administrator Permanent Up to GBP37k per annum Cambridge Shift pattern: Tuesday to Sunday inc Scope of the role: This is a new role based in Cambridge, working for a specialist clinical laboratory within the sample management team. You will be supporting the Pharma Services projects for the business and taking a lead role in the accessioning of samples for the team. Role requirements: Accessioning of specimens into the lab via the in-house LIS, creating relevant labelling and travel documents pertinent to sample type. Assembling case files including any pre-analytic work carried out. Preparation of samples for testing. Sending out specimens to reference laboratories through accurate and efficient coordination of shipping process. Sample data management including QC checks. Collating reports for study sponsors and data transfer. Organising shipment of samples, archiving samples and maintaining efficient documentation storage for samples, as well as flagging any non-conformance or quality issues highlighted. Taking an active role in departmental meetings, offering advice and guidance and data evidence to inform next steps. Supporting with training and coaching more junior members of the team. Your background: BSc in a Life Science discipline or equivalent. Strong proficiency with MS Office programmes as well as databases. Proven background in managing samples, accessioning or similar. Able to work independently and with minimal supervision, with a collaborative approach and comfortable working in a multidisciplinary lab environment. Enjoys working in a quality-driven setting with clear parameters. Must be able to work in a biohazard environment with some knowledge of safety standards and protocols.
