Job Advert We are looking for proactive and passionate Support Workers to join our friendly and welcoming team in our supported living services in Taunton. We have currently have permanent, part time (35 hours per week) posts available, but we can be flexible. Shifts will be spread across mornings, afternoons, evenings and sleep ins, weekends and bank holidays. Due to the nature of this service we are looking for female only applicants. This post is exempt under the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1. About the Service This is an exciting and varied role where you will be supporting people to live the life they choose. Some of daily activities you will be supporting them in include preparing meals, helping them to understand their finances, personal care and accompanying them into the community. More information about the service and the people we support can be found in the attached Additional Information document. What does a Support Worker do? As a Support Worker you will be expected to provide an outstanding level of support that will help to ensure the people we support live a more comfortable, dignified, liberated and happy life. You will have excellent communication skills and be a naturally caring and patient personality. Typical responsibilities may include: Supporting people to live independently ndash; budget management, paying bills, housework, organising appointments and cooking delicious healthy meals. Relationship building ndash; supporting the people we support to understand the world around them and promoting positive relationships. Community Social Inclusion - supporting individuals to access and participate in their local community and social events to promote life skills and individuality. Personal care - helping people to get ready for the day. This may include prompting the people we support to take their medication and assisting with bathing, showering and using the bathroom.
