Business development manager

We are seeking a motivated and results-oriented Business Development Manager to join a family-run SME who operate in the building consumables industry. This is a National role, responsible for promoting and selling a range of construction materials and supplies to contractors, builders, architects, and other professionals in the construction industry. This role will be roughly 4 days per week out on the road for meetings, Nationally and 1 day per week in the office in Essex. Responsibilities: * Develop and implement a strategic sales plan to identify and target potential customers in the construction industry * Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, understanding their needs and providing personalized solutions. * Identify new business opportunities and actively prospect for new customers through cold calling, networking, and referrals. * Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to showcase the features and benefits of our building consumables. * Attend trade shows, industry events, and networking functions Requirements * Previous experience in a field based sales role, preferably in the building materials or construction industry * Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth. * Excellent negotiation and persuasion abilities, with a focus on delivering value to customers. * Knowledge of building materials and construction processes is preferred. * Valid driver #39;s license and willingness to travel as needed Hours - Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm (with a degree of flexibility) Benefits * Basic salary GBP40,000 - GBP45,000 per annum * OTE GBP60,000 - GBP65,000 (uncapped) * Expenses paid * Car allowance
