Job Description Role: ASD Teaching Assistant - Secondary Start: ASAP Location: South London Contract: Full Time Rate: GBP95-GBP110 per day Are you looking to develop your career in Education? If so, we are looking for a compassionate SEN specialist TA who is dedicated to supporting pupils with autism within a secondary school. You will be assisting the classroom teacher with supervision over the students who suffer from the following conditions hellip; Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) hellip;To undertake this role, you will be dealing with challenging behaviour and using various reinforcement strategies to provide support for pupils who need extra support. The ideal candidate: Experience working with students with behavioural challenges, preferably in an educational or special education setting. Knowledge of behaviour management techniques, positive reinforcement strategies, and de-escalation methods. Ability to establish rapport and build positive relationships with students, demonstrating patience, empathy, and understanding. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations. Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students and the educational environment.Requirements: Understanding of EHCPs and strategies for supporting students with ASD. Ability to show empathy, compassion and resilience Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
