Job Title: Learning Support Assistant Location: Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire Salary: GBP75 - GBP85 per day (depending on experience) Contract Type: Full-time, September Start Hours: 08:30 - 15:30 This exceptional school caters to both Primary and Secondary aged learners and is highly regarded for its dedication to providing personalized support for individuals with Autism in the Welwyn Garden City area. Role Overview: As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting students with additional learning needs to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential. Working closely with teachers and other support staff, you will provide one-to-one or small group support, adapt learning materials, and implement strategies to promote inclusion and student engagement. Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored support to students with a range of learning difficulties, disabilities, or special educational needs. Assist with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies. Collaborate with teachers to differentiate instruction and adapt learning resources to meet the diverse needs of students. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported. Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to assessment processes. Promote independence and self-confidence in students by encouraging active participation and fostering a growth mindset. Requirements: Previous experience working with children or young adults in an educational setting is desirable but not essential. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of others. Flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of students and respond to changing situations. A proactive and collaborative approach to teamwork, with a commitment to promoting inclusivity and equality of opportunity.
