Quality engineer

Smart Solutions are working with an award winning manufacturer who are recruiting a Quality Engineer to join the team in Swansea. The Quality Engineer will work closely with the Production, Engineering and Warehouse teams to maintain and improve our quality system for production, packaging, assembly and warehouse activities. Hours: 6am to 2pm Mon-Fri, week 1 and 2pm to 11pm Mon-Thurs, 2pm to 6pm Fri, week 2. Key Responsibilities of the Quality Engineer : * Leading QC improvement activity working with all dept heads * Supervision of the QC team to ensure optimal performance attained * Effective closure of both internal and external (CAPA) production quality issues * Developing and maintaining appropriate quality instructions, specifications and standards * Leading supplier quality improvements * Supporting quality training of production staff * Acting as a quality mentor to the QC and Production teams * Performing audits of the production quality system * Effective control of non-conforming product * Improvement of First Off Inspection process KPI * Improvement of Shipping Release process KPI * Risk reduction of the assembly, test, packing shipping processes * Maintaining all required records and performance indicators Requirements of the Quality Engineer : * Experience in a related manufacturing environment in a quality function * Excellent problem-solving skills, e.g. DMAIC, PDCA, 8D, etc * Good understanding of GMP * HNC/HND or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic and/or Mechanical Engineering What you will get: * Attractive starting salary between GBP38,000 - GBP45,000 DOE * Permanent Contract with career progression * Excellent company package including workplace pension, life assurance, product discounts and healthcare plan.
