Embedded Software Engineer Stevenage SECURITY CLEARANCE LEVEL - SC DURATION ndash; 12 months ndash; Could be extended WORK PATTERN - Standard Working Week 37hrs Mon-Fri PAY RATE GBP65/hour (Umbrella), GBP48.72 / hour (PAYE) 1hr Interview, preferably in person but could do Phone interview. Overview of department: Datalink Embedded Software Engineer Embedded Software Engineering Department based in Stevenage develops embedded software for a range of products and projects within the company. The Datalink Software Team is part of this department Real Time Datalink Software is tasked with supplying Datalink software into a wide range of Missiles and platforms that require a method of communicating over the air between them. This is a relatively new function within the company having scope to help define what the Datalink does, its protocols and technical design. As well as working within the SW team you will also be expected to work closely with Firmware, Systems, Hardware and Test Engineers and respective leads. Responsibilities: Requirements capture. Design and documentation of the clients Datalink Products Developing Embedded Software in C for the company Data link Products Testing Datalink products using a range of test equipment, others standard COTS items such as Scopes Supporting and working with other members of the Software team as well as working with those outside of the Software department e.g Systems, Firmware and test Skillset/experience required: bull; Hard Real-Time embedded software development bull; lsquo;C rsquo; Programming Language bull; ADA Programming Language bull; LDRA bull; Static Analysis using tools such as LDRA bull; Communication interfaces (e.g. SPI, UART, Ethernet, PCI-Express) bull; Software Design methodologies (e.g. UML) bull; Ability to work proactively as part of a larger multi-disciplinary team bull; Strong problem solving at system and software component level to investigate software/hardware issues bull; System integration and performance analysis bull; Working in a lab environment using Missile components and Test Equipment bull; Full life cycle development in Agile/SCRUM working environment where quality and accuracy of work is essential bull; IBM DOORS Tool bull; Experience programming Microcontrollers or microprocessors, e.g ARM, powerPC Desirable but not essential: bull; Experience of mobile/satellite communications and their associated protocols (Desirable but not essential) bull; Modulation techniques (Desirable but not essential) bull; Network architectures (Desirable but not essential)
