The Manchester Centre for Genomic Medicine is one of the largest and most comprehensive genetic services in the country, providing genetics diagnosis, investigation, counselling and long-term support for patients and their families throughout the North West Region. The department has close links with the University Department of Medical Genetics, which is responsible for teaching and training. Operating within clearly defined limits of the policies, procedures, and guidelines of the department, this post carries responsibility for the smooth running of the Outpatients areas reflecting high quality customer care in all daily activities. Provide daily support for the Clerical and Secretarial teams. Assist secretarial staff in scanning patient paperwork as necessary. Initiate requests for patient notes both within MFT and external Trusts. Scan correspondence on a daily basis. Record patient information on EPR/ Hive and Book appointments Respond to patient telephone queries Prepare case notes for clinic in the appropriate manner. Ensure all files are tracked to the appropriate person/clinic, using the departmental clinical database.
