Account manager

This is a pivotal role that will be responsible for ensuring exceptional customer service, driving sales growth, and representing the company in various forums. Key Responsibilities: * Work autonomously to drive business growth through the conversion of enquiries into orders and actively promoting the company in the marketplace. * Develop key accounts and strategic partnerships while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction. * Maximise order value, frequency, profit, and payment terms to meet and exceed sales targets. * Identify and capitalise on business development opportunities. * Administer enquiries, quotations, and order entries efficiently, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. * Collaborate effectively with internal teams including Field Sales, Planning, Production, Quality, and Technical departments. * Conduct regular customer visits, attend exhibitions, and participate in networking events to expand our market presence. * Perform sales order review procedures and ensure thorough compliance with export regulations. * Act as the primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts, fostering strong relationships and understanding their unique needs. * Plan and participate in customer visits, trade shows, and networking events both domestically and internationally. * Provide coverage for other sector/customer accounts during holidays and sick leaves, demonstrating versatility and adaptability. * Generate and distribute order status reports and sales reports to relevant stakeholders. * Demonstrate a solid understanding of engineering markets, production processes, and technical specifications. To be considered for this role you must be able to demonstrate the following: * Proven experience in account management within the engineering / manufacturing industry. * Strong interpersonal skills with both internal and external stakeholders. * Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a dynamic environment. * Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications. * Familiarity with export regulations and compliance procedures. * Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. * Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
