Assistant accountant maternity cover

Experienced Assistant Accountant required for a growing retail/insurance business based in Bradford. Established over 150 years they aim to provide their customers with the best market-leading services. The purpose of the role is to support the Head of Finance. Duties will include: * Maintaining the Purchase Ledger. * Updating and maintaining the cashbook. * Bank reconciliations. * Stock accounting. * Intercompany transactions. * Monthly balance sheet reconciliations. * Profit and loss variance reporting. * Accruals and prepayments. * Preparation and posting of monthly journals. * Monthly VAT return. * Updating and maintaining the fixed asset register. * Other ad hoc duties as required. This search is not limited to any industry. Previous experience is essential: * A solid understanding of debits and credits is essential. * You must be IT literate with working knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookups, XLookups, Forumula #39;s etc). * Sage Line 200 experience is desirable. * The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines is essential. * Accuracy and attention to detail is essential
