School cover supervisor

We provide full in house training for this role so experience is NOT essential. THE ROLE OF A COVER SUPERVISOR: The role of a Cover Supervisor is an incredibly responsible one and every day is different. Usually working with pupils aged 11-16, cover supervisors deliver pre-set work in the absence of the permanent class teacher. Covering a variety of subjects, you will be required to manage classroom behavior to ensure pupils stay on task in a safe but effective learning environment ndash; this is not a teaching role and you do NOT need any teaching qualifications or experience to apply. If you are considering training as a teacher in the future this is a excellent opportunity to gain experience in the sector. The role is flexible and can fit around other personal/work commitments. You are required to work between 1 and 5 days a week Monday ndash; Friday 08.30 ndash; 3PM. DUTIES INCLUDE: Delivering work that has been pre-set by the class teacher. Managing the behavior of pupils to ensure they are kept on track with the pre-set work. Responding to any questions from pupils during the lesson. Dealing with any immediate problems or emergencies according to the school rsquo;s policies and procedures. Reporting back any issues using the schools rsquo; policies on the behavior of pupils during the class and any issues arising. YOU WILL NEED: To have excellent communication skills. To be confident leading, confident to deal with challenging behavior. Not essential but beneficial - working towards a degree or have a degree qualification OR hold a Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject Not essential but beneficial - experience working with Children/Young People (this can involve voluntary work/college or uni placement Confident and adaptable Not essential but beneficial ndash; Background in sports coaching, dance teaching, swimming teacher, private tutoring, private music teacher, worked in a caring role, police, fostering, residential care worked with SEN or challenging behavior - TEFEL or TESOL We are an experienced team and specialise in placing secondary teachers, primary teachers, cover supervisors, teaching assistants, school admin and clerical staff into positions all across Lancashire We offer excellent rates of pay, in line with your level of experience Part/Full time work available AWR compliant Experienced and dedicated consultants who take great pride in providing you a quality service Free CPD accredited training courses including Advanced Safeguarding, Child Protection Prevent Vida Education are an APSCo Compliance+ Accredited agency and all applicants will be subject to checks in line with DfE lsquo;Keeping Children Safe in Education rsquo;, these include but are not limited to; an Enhanced DBS Check, References, Qualifications, Right to Work Status.
