Mental health support mentor

As a Mental Health Support Mentor, you rsquo;ll deliver excellent support to young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs in an alternative education provision in Northumberland. The pupil Referral Unit (PRU) supports students rsquo; day to day transition back into mainstream education, with a focus on a child-centred and trauma informed approach. Your job would be to work 1-1 and in small groups under direction of the teacher to encourage, motivate and support students through their education. Students under this provision come from a wide range of backgrounds and display challenging behaviour resulting from complex SEMH/SEN needs so resilience, empathy and understanding are key to the role. This role is a great opportunity for those with relevant experience such as: - Those from a background in education, care or the support of vulnerable people. - Graduates from Psychology, Criminology, Sociology. - Educators wanting to gain SEN/SEMH experience Pay between up to GBP500 per week, experience dependent. You will need to have suitable references and a DBS certificate (or be eligible to apply).
