Key Responsibilities for the Deputy Manager: Support the Manager in overseeing all aspects of the children #39;s home, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, company policies, and best practices. Assist in recruiting, training, and managing a dedicated staff team, fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork, and professional development. Contribute to the development and implementation of individual care plans for each child, collaborating with relevant stakeholders to meet their unique needs and aspirations. Help create a warm and supportive environment, promoting positive relationships, trust, and stability for the children and young people. Ensure rigorous adherence to safeguarding procedures, protecting the welfare and rights of the children in your care. Collaborate with external agencies, including local authorities and professionals, to provide holistic support and achieve positive outcomes. Assist in monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of care delivery, implementing improvements as necessary to enhance outcomes. Support with budget management, resource allocation, and administrative tasks to ensure efficient and effective operations. Qualifications and Requirements for the Deputy Manager: Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a children #39;s residential care setting is essential. Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and best practices in children #39;s residential care. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, facilitating effective engagement with staff, children, families, and external stakeholders. A commitment to promoting the welfare and safeguarding of children and young people. Relevant professional qualifications (such as NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare or equivalent) are desirable but not essential. Possession of a full driving license and willingness to travel as required.
