Support Worker for children with Autism Full-Time Solihull GBP83- GBP85 Day (salary is depending on experience and/or qualifications) Starting: June 2024 The School and Role The school caters for children with a primary diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Condition, additionally supporting Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs associated with this primary diagnosis. The school provides a supportive and nurturing environment, focusing on the holistic development of their students. Many students will have had adverse experiences within mainstream settings, the schools therapeutic approach creates a safe environment for students to grow in confidence. Your role within the school will be to work on a one-to-one basis with students, you will be using positive reinforcement and a personalised approach to develop their academic and social skills. The small class sizes allow for more targeted support, you will be expected to work as a team with the classroom teacher and other supportive members of the class. On an individual basis, you will be expected to take a proactive approach to your work, this means making key decisions about how to best support the child you are working with. Your aim is to develop students #39; confidence and build their academic and social skill sets. The desired support worker will have; A Minimum of 1-year experience of working with people with Autism Spectrum Condition. A DBS on the update service, or willingness to undergo a DBS Check. If you have lived/worked outside of the United Kingdom within the last 5 years you will need to provide an Overseas Police Check. A passion for supporting and caring for young people with physical and learning disabilities. An Ability to work individually and take a proactive approach to student care and learning.
