All relevant mechanical engineering experience considered. Position Summary: Working at a live Rail Depot you will initially be engaged in the implementation of a suite of Mechanical modifications on Aventra Class 345 Fleet. In addition, the position holder will eventually be responsible for carrying out routine maintenance, Class 345 Electric Multiple Unit. Take overall responsibility of vehicle examinations in line with vehicle maintenance instructions (VMI #39;s). Undertake all types of maintenance examination work to ensure that we provide a safe, reliable, and defect free train. Take responsibility for the safe, efficient and professional workmanship of oneself and others under your control. Duties could include the following: * Mechanical Interiors/ Roof Underframe inspections * Carrying out inspections and checks to ensure reliability of fleet * Carrying out mechanical modifications * Carrying out work recording via both paperwork and computer (SAP) Ideal Candidate A diligent professional able to work well as an individual or in a team. Relevant experience required: * History of completing safety critical work * Ability to undertake detailed fault finding and analysis by reading and following electrical and pneumatic schematic drawings * Comprehensive knowledge of Electrical Mechanical Principles * Computer literate and experience of using a maintenance management system for work recording Qualifications: Minimum requirements NVQ Level 2 award in and Mechanical discipline or similar.
