Practice Bookkeeper Location: Altrincham, Cheshire, WA14 1EB. Salary: GBP23,000 - GBP26,000 DOE. Contract: Full time, permanent. Our diverse clientele consists of start-ups, limited companies, sole traders, partnerships, property landlords, contractors, freelancers and individual taxpayers across the local Altrincham and Sale area, and the wider Greater Manchester area. We are currently looking for an experienced and skilled Bookkeeper to join our friendly and rapidly expanding team, and to contribute to our mission. The role You will be a key member of the team, whose role will be pivotal for sustaining the company rsquo;s reputation for accuracy and integrity. Key responsibilities bull; Serving as the primary point of contact for clients regarding bookkeeping enquiries, providing clear, timely, and professional responses to ensure long-term client satisfaction and trust. bull; Logging records received from clients and checking that the information is relevant and complete. bull; Accurately processing sales invoices, receipts and expenses, and matching these with income and payments within the accounting software. bull; Posting weekly / monthly payroll journals bull; Performing regular bank and credit card reconciliations, and reconciling balance sheet accounts (debtors, creditors, VAT, PAYE etc, ensuring that the data aligns accurately with bank statements and internal records. bull; Performing regular reconciliations of online / retail / trading accounts like Shopify, Paypal, Stripe, Amazon and Etsy, to ensure that the data input matches these third party balances bull; Checking regularly for scope creep and initiating a review of the budget / fees bull; Preparing and submitting VAT returns, after due review processes. bull; Assisting in the preparation of the P L and B/S ledgers for the purposes of preparing business accounts We offer bull; Competitive salary, dependent on experience bull; Discretionary bonuses bull; Workplace pension bull; Ability to work flexible hours bull; Paid time off (pro-rated), with an annual increase after 5 years of continuous service, and statutory holidays bull; Opportunity to join an international network of tax and accountancy practices bull; Technical support in the office and access to the network helpdesk bull; Ongoing training and opportunities for professional development What we need from you: bull; A minimum of 3 years bookkeeping experience within a practice environment bull; AAT level 3 or higher bull; Proficiency with Xero and Quickbooks is essential bull; Experience of using Sage and other packages is preferable bull; Ability to set budgets and ensure delivery within these bull; Exceptional verbal and written communication skills bull; Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills bull; Commitment to ethical behaviour, transparency, and accountability bull; Willingness to work on-site in our Altrincham office bull; Good working knowledge of MS-Excel If you feel you have the skills and experience to be successful in this role then apply today
