Sports coach required

Sports Coach A specialist provision in Huddersfield area are looking for a Sports Coach to join their fantastic team. This provision provides full-time education for pupils aged 4 to 16 years who have struggled to access the curriculum in a mainstream school, and also offers 12 week placements for pupils who are at risk of permanent exclusion. This extremely proud provision maintains high expectations and strives to provide the best education possible for their pupils, re-engaging them with learning and ensuring their special educational needs are identified and understood. Their staff are highly skilled, hard-working, and extremely dedicated, placing the needs of the pupils at the heart of everything they do. As a Sports Coach you will be required to deliver tailored sports sessions to small groups of pupils and in some cases, on a 1:1 basis. Responsibilities within this role will be a combination of general support duties as well as sports coaching. You will be expected to follow the national curriculum as closely as possible, however adhere to each pupil rsquo;s additional needs where necessary and adapt to the Educational Health Care Plans if needed. You must be experienced and confident in facing challenging behaviour and you will be required to implement relevant behaviour strategies, maintaining a calm approach at all times. Requirements: Have a Sports related background/qualification. Experience/confidence with handling challenging behaviour. A genuine passion for working with and supporting pupils with SEMH. Able to remain calm in high pressure environments. Ability to support pupils on a 1-1 basis as well as in small groups. Develop communication and interaction, personal, social, emotional and academic skills. Must be positive and solution focussed.
