The Buyer Role: * Oversee and manage selected categories to ensure supply and demand is efficient * Build excellent relationships with Suppliers to optimise performance and reduce costs * Manage quotations, purchase orders and expediting activity to ensure SLA rsquo;s are achieved * Coordinate and manage deliveries, inventory and costs with an emphasis on quality. Ensuring to take action on changes in demand, inventory level and supply issues * Ensure MRP systems are modified, maintained and updated regularly, ensuring attention to detail with information recorded * Support the Supply Chain Department with operating smoothly and assist with enquires as and when required from internal and external sources * Work towards the Departmental and wider business objectives, ensuring driving continuous improvement at all times You rsquo;ll Need: * Previous experience of operating within a Procurement or Supply Chain appointment * CIPS qualified or working towards * A proactive approach with the ability to use own initiative to drive tasks completion * Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability influence, negotiate and liaise with internal and external personnel * Highly organised with the ability to prioritise workload and demands * Proficient in Microsoft packages and MRP Systems * Experience of working in a Continuous Improvement environment * Problem solving skills and a solution provider * Previous experience of operating in an engineering or manufacturing environment would be advantageous What rsquo;s in it for you: * 25 Days annual leave + Bank Holidays * Income Protection * Pension Scheme offers up to 10% company contribution * Employee discounts on various services and goods * Being part of an organisation that rewards success and advocates employee appreciation * Early finish Fridays VH Talent, your Permanent and FTC Recruitment Partner
