Quality process engineer

Job Title: Quality Process Engineer Location: Basildon Essex / Hybrid - 2/3 days onsite Rate: GBP26.75ph increasing to GBP32.32ph after 13 Weeks - Umbrella Co Basis Employment Type: Contract (Currently financed for 7 Month contract) Hours: Standard 37.5 Hours Per Week The role is for a Special Vehicles Quality Process Engineer who will support the Special Vehicles Teams as well as suppliers to ensure product quality throughout the lifecycle. The Engineer will own and lead the Special Vehicles Quality Operating System (QOS) and Supplier Technical Assistance (STA), this is the process we hold ourselves and mainstream to enable high-quality products and fast turnaround of issues. Special Vehicles operate within to deliver bespoke upfit solutions to our customers to drive their business productivity. We are looking for a Quality Process Engineer to join our team. Objectives Support the Special Vehicles Teams as well as Suppliers to ensure product quality throughout the lifecycle. The Engineer will own and lead the Special Vehicles Quality Operating System (QOS) and Supplier Technical Assistance (STA), this is the process we hold ourselves and mainstream client to, enabling high-quality products and fast turnaround of issues. Skills Required: * IT Literate, good working knowledge of MS Office and associated applications Tasks. * Maintain the quality process for Special Vehicles. * Own and manage the priority issues affecting Special Vehicles. * Create and publish quality metrics. * Support Cross-functional Teams / meetings to ensure progress on issues affecting Special Vehicles. * Support management reviews with quality process road maps. * Support development of prevent recurrence plans and process improvement actions; track agreed work plans. * Support development of the Special Vehicles Quality Process and Delivery Performance Metrics and Dashboard/Health Charts. * Co-ordinate all Supplier Technical Assistance (STA) queries, resolving open issues and developing robust plans to meet program timing. * Lead STA activities at Suppliers, including the PPAP and PSW Processes. Desirable Experience: * Candidate should be degree qualified and have extensive experience within the Automotive Industry. * Strong Systems Engineering understanding. * Understanding of Quality Operating Systems especially with our client. * Experience in Failure Mode Avoidance and Campaign prevention. Experience Required: * Extensive Automotive Engineering experience. Experience Preferred: * Experience in Quality roles. Education Required: * Engineering Degree. Additional Information This role is INSIDE IR35 Hybrid model of work, 2-3 days in office and flexible as required to meet business needs
