Therapy assistant

An outstanding job opportunity has arisen for a committed Therapy Assistant in Hitchin Permanent full time position 37.5 hours per week Pay rate GBP11.49 - GBP12.02 per hour Specialism Acquired brain injury and a range of other neurological conditions such as Huntington rsquo;s disease, Parkinson rsquo;s, and multiple sclerosis. Purpose To support the Therapy staff to provide high-quality holistic person-centred care and support to service users to reach their full rehabilitation potential. Experience, Skills and Ability bull; Understanding of health/social care sector work bull; Experience of working with people in a care setting bull; Experience with acquired brain injuries and physical disabilities is desirable but not essential bull; Skilled in interacting with all types of people bull; Proven experience of working within a team bull; Good communication skills, both verbal and written bull; Able to work within policies and procedures bull; An ability to work under supervision but also autonomously when appropriate bull; An ability to prioritise, organise and coordinate daily workload bull; An ability to build effective working relationships Key Responsibilities bull; Together with the multi-disciplinary team responsible to ensure optimum cognitive, social, emotional, physical, and functional needs are addressed. bull; To support service users with cancer or other life-limiting illnesses, who have specialist palliative or neurological needs bull; Responsible to ensure that the service users rsquo; individual rights and choices are actively promoted and supported, and their beliefs and preferences appropriately acknowledged bull; Responsible to report status and variances in treatment and condition to the appropriate Therapist at the earliest opportunity and progress treatment as advised by the Therapist bull; Where appropriate, responsible to review, order and fit equipment and work with service users and their carers/family to demonstrate its safe use, either in the centre or in service user rsquo;s home bull; Responsible to liaise with service users and family members to help complete forms, gather information and co-ordinate interventions bull; To support the Therapy Team by completing administrative tasks such as gathering referrals, recording monthly activity data bull; Responsible to collect, collate, evaluate, and report information, maintaining accurate service user records in all formats, including written and electronic information systems bull; Facilitating the safe and smooth running of the Service, the post holder is expected to maintain a safe working environment, maintain service user confidentiality, and occasionally taking on reasonable additional tasks For more information, please call LKA Recruitment on (phone number removed) option 3 or email your CV to (url removed)
