Operations manager energy from waste

Astute #39;s Power team is partnering with a large Energy from Waste Power Company to recruit an Operations Manager for its site in Kent. Responsibilities and duties Reporting to the Plant Manager you will: Manage all operational aspects of plant, including all people management responsibilities of the Operations team. Meet agreed organisational performance plans, within agreed budgets and timescales. Monitor plant, process and labour productivity, implementing improvements where necessary. Propose plant and process developments. Available to be called in out-of-hours during on-site emergencies, such as managing breakdowns. Assist the Plant Manager in developing operational and maintenance budgets and strategies. Ensure all activities are carried out in line with health, safety and environmental rules and recommendations, and with consideration for all employees and customers on site. Ensure compliance with the Environmental permit and Environmental Legislation at site. As a Senior Authorised Person, be responsible for the Safety Rules and their implementation. Professional qualifications We are looking for someone with the following: Degree or HND qualified in a relevant field, i.e. Process Engineering / Mechanical Engineering etc. Experience managing a large, multi-discipline team within a heavy industrial, process environment, including steam raising plant. Extensive understanding of the Energy from Waste process. Strong Health and Safety knowledge, including up to date knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations. Experience managing the training of staff and competency matrixes. Experience managing budgets, with full responsibility for your area. Personal skills The Operations Manager role would suit someone who is: Able to work independently and is self-motivated. Able to take initiative when required.
