Description: An exciting opportunity has arisen, supporting a large Healthcare organisation as an Associate Director of Nursing ndash; Clinical Governance and Professional Practice. The post will be based in North Wales, on an interim basis for 9 months, the role will be based mainly onsite, but there is the option to work remotely one day per week. The post holder will be responsible for providing clear, visible professional leadership and management to the nursing workforce, ensuring that appropriate national and local strategic developments are implemented. Main Responsibilities: Provide leadership, management, and direction to clinical staff within an Acute District General Hospital and across the divisions to facilitate the delivery of excellent practice that is evidence based and measurable; Provide visible leadership and by example become the model for putting patients, users, and carers at the centre of services; Support the Director of Nursing in the delivery of a nursing and AHP management structure with sharing management accountability; Provides visible operational leadership to the Clinical Site Managers, Matrons, Nurse Specialists, Ward Managers, and other staff within acute general hospital including the delivery and realisation of their personal and operational objectives; In agreement with the Director of Nursing be delegated key lines of responsibility which may include implementing all targets and standards as they pertain to nursing and AHPs, highlighting and factors which put the achievement of targets, patients rsquo; safety, or professional regulation at risk, and for proposing and taking remedial actions; Have the highest level of communication skills for dealing with both patients and staff. Required to communicate straightforward messages as well as communicating difficult messages; Required to be empathetic and able to communicate difficult and sensitive messages ensuring that the patient or staff member understands and accepts the message; Impart complex, sensitive, and contentious information, both to individual staff members, as well as to groups of staff, and other agencies using a range of communication tools to achieve this; Act and ensure that complex formal and informal complaints are resolved satisfactorily while being well versed in the Local Health Board rsquo;s complaint procedures; Exercise a high level of budgetary management to plan, manage and ensure that financial control of expenditure is kept within agreed targets and to implement strategies for cash releasing efficiency scheme; Implement the Health Board rsquo;s strategic objectives as these relate to acute hospital e.g., Fundamentals of Care, Secondary Care, Care Metrics and improve performance in the Healthcare Standards as they relate to nursing, patients and safe, quality patient care; Responsible for the implementation of systems, control processes and risk management arrangements within the acute hospital that ensure full compliance with internal and external governance procedures and to benchmark against best practice requirements; Within the acute hospital undertake trend analyses of all complaints and adverse incidents; and ensure corrective action is taken and monitoring of results; Drive service transformation and discriminatory areas within portfolio; Responsible for the work within and acute hospital to ensure the safety and well-being of patients, service users and colleagues, taking any necessary corrective action as appropriate to prevent any deterioration in service standards, or to the safety and welfare of patients and staff. A successful candidate will have: Registered nurse with degree in relevant subject; Teaching/assessing qualification; Leadership course / qualification; Extensive knowledge of Nursing and AHP performance and staff management acquired through training and experience over extended period; 5 years rsquo; experience based on working in a senior nursing role with a track record of achievement; Proven experience of budgetary management and delivery and staff management across services; Considerable experience and highly developed clinical skills which are used in the day-to-day management of a District General Hospital.
