Technician - Asset Management - Highways Flood Risk Our client, a leading organization in the Highways Flood Risk sector, is seeking a skilled Technician to contribute to the delivery of Environment Services in West Berkshire. In this permanent role, you will play a key part in the maintenance of the public highway, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and protecting the highway asset. Job Purpose Contribute to the delivery of Environment Services, with a focus on the maintenance of the public highway Ensure compliance with Section 58 of the Highways Act 1980, the Council #39;s Highway Safety Inspection Policy, and national guidance Defend the Council against third-party claims Protect the highway asset Main Duties and Responsibilities Carry out routine and cyclic inspections of the highway network to identify defects that pose a risk to highway users Decide on appropriate actions to make defects safe or rectify them Utilize handheld computers to receive and record inspections Work outdoors for extended periods in various weather conditions Walk and drive daily in different parts of the district Maintain accurate records and work within strict guidance and timescales Interact with the public and address customer complaints Conduct claim investigations, provide witness statements, and represent the authority in court if necessary Promote equality and treat everyone with fairness and dignity Comply with health and safety policies, procedures, and rules Adhere to the standards set out in the competency framework If you have experience in asset management, particularly in the highways sector, and are eager to contribute to the safe and efficient management of West Berkshire #39;s highway network, we encourage you to apply now.
