The Role: As a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant, you will work on a 1:1 basis with children who have a range of Special Needs, providing them with tailored support and encouragement to help them thrive. You will play a vital role in creating a supportive and inclusive environment where every child feels valued and empowered to reach their full potential. Key Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 support to children with Special Educational Needs, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals. Adapt teaching materials and resources to meet the individual needs of each child, ensuring that learning activities are engaging and accessible. Foster positive relationships with pupils, promoting self-confidence and independence. Collaborate with classroom teachers and SENCO to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor progress. Support children with social and emotional development, helping them to build resilience and overcome challenges. Requirements: NVQ Level 2 or higher qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent). Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs is highly desirable. Knowledge of Read, Write, Inc would be advantageous but not essential. Empathy, patience, and a positive attitude towards supporting children with diverse needs.
