Previous project experience must include civil engineering, utilities, or cabling. As a Cable Design Engineer you will be responsible for the below: System Engineering, Reliability/Availability/Maintainability/Safety (RAMS) studies Project Co-ordination for project interface Inherent knowledge of HV AC and DC electrical cable systems at transmission level (400kV and possibly above) Underground cable system design Thermo-mechanical design, electrical current carrying capacity, ventilation/cooling for various direct buried, ducted, troughed and tunnel applications Design AssuranceAs a Cable Design Engineer the below requirements are essential Cable manufacturing industry - including experience and/or working knowledge of the test laboratories.
