Job description Role:- ESOL Tutor Location:- Rochdale Hours:- Sessional (Ongoing) Salary:- Up to GBP26,000 Core Purpose: To provide effective teaching, learning and assessment to adult learners. Key Responsibilities middot; Demonstrate consistently high expectations of and for all learners and commitment to positive outcomes middot; Deliver engaging personalised learning so that all learners make progress and achieve their individual goals middot; Make a meaningful contribution to the company rsquo;s goal of outstanding quality of education middot; Demonstrate full commitment to learner and staff wellbeing, working within company Safeguarding and Prevent policy and procedure and promoting a culture of vigilance at all times middot; To conduct effective initial assessment for referred learners, identifying accurate starting points and designing appropriate Individual Learning Plans middot; To use starting point information to personalise teaching and learning, ensuring that each session includes all learners and meets individual needs with support and challenge middot; To provide effective verbal and written feedback on learning so that learners make good progress and achieve qualification and wider learning objectives middot; To assess and monitor learner progress in line with company policies and procedures, intervening where necessary to ensure that all learners achieve their full potential middot; To prepare learners for summative assessment, including controlled assessment, external test and portfolio submission middot; To maintain rigour in qualification assessment, working within JCQ and awarding body regulations regarding handling of secure materials, administration of assessment and procedures for results and resits as required middot; To quality assure the assessment activity of colleagues, working under the direction of the LIQA middot; To make a full contribution to the continuous improvement of the quality of education throughout the provision, sharing good practice and contributing to the development of SoW and resources middot; To attend meetings and undertake standardising and CPD activity as required middot; To manage own professional development, using feedback (including OTLA, IQA, learner voice and internal / external quality assurance and inspection) to deliver continuous improvement in teaching, learning and assessment middot; To engage with the performance management process, preparing for reviews, meeting deadlines and achieving KPIs to drive continuous improvement middot; To maintain up to date subject knowledge and industry expertise and meet changing needs of qualifications and curriculum middot; To manage learner behaviours including attendance and punctuality middot; To liaise with colleagues to ensure IAG and employability needs of learners are met, maximising positive progression for learners middot; To manage the learner journey including administration so that contractual and funding requirements are consistently met middot; To work flexibly to meet business and contract needs, including delivery site and activity middot; To be conversant with and ensure full compliance with all relevant company policies and procedures Essential Criteria: Knowledge and experience of adult education CELTA/TESOL Knowledge and experience of Safeguarding and Prevent Experience of effective personalised teaching and learning for learners experiencing diverse barriers Experience of successful teaching of accredited qualifications Experience of developing and creating learning materials and resources Flexibility across geographical locations Clean driving license and full-time access to car To apply for this role please contact Craig Doyle at Trigon Recruitment on (phone number removed) for further information/confidential chat or send your CV.
