Maintenance technician

Job Title: Maintenance Technician Salary: GBP35,000 - GBP45,000 Benefits: To be discussed at interview Job Type: Permanent Location: TF10 Job Start date: ASAP Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off 12-hour shifts on a rotation of 2-day shift and 2-night shift We rsquo;re supporting our client, a leading food company based in Newport (TF10), who are looking for a Maintenance Technician to join their growing team. The successful Maintenance Technician will have experience of carrying out Planned and Preventative maintenance to agreed schedules. As part of the Engineering team, you will report directly to the Site Engineering Manager or Managing Director-Prepared Salads in their absence. The working hours will be 4 on 4 off 12 hr shifts on a rotating of 2-day shift and 2-night shift based on your rota located in the maintenance file. There may be times when you are requested to work additional hours, to provide support and cover for colleagues during absences, including longer working periods, weekends, and bank holidays. The primary responsibilities of this position are listed below. However, the Site Head Engineer or any Manager at the company may request you to fulfil extra duties in line with your job responsibilities. Responsibilities for Maintenance Technician: * To observe, recognise and report on machinery or component defects or symptoms of impending failure and provide CMMS data. * Carry out Planned and Preventative maintenance to agreed schedules. * To diagnose faults and to test, repair and maintain Mechanical / Electrical equipment. * Carry out autonomous breakdown tasks and preventative maintenance tasks competently and correctly, recording work carried out in appropriate documentation / data base (CMMS). * To interpret and implement technical service instruction data relating to machinery and equipment. * Previous experience of working with CMMS systems * To ensure effective handover of information across shift. * Contact OEM #39;s and other suppliers for technical support as and when required and expedite parts when not available on site. * Lead shift-based problem solving where corrective actions aren #39;t clear. * Working as ONE TEAM. * Identify and implement Improvements. * Identify life cycle issues and raise these with possible recommendations. * Use and support simple 5WHY OE techniques / RCA techniques through to 100-year fix. * Use and support departmental 5s programmes for workshops and stores. * To use CMMS historical data for improvement initiatives. * Use the CMMS stores system to accurately record parts taken out. * Complete all records and paperwork for specific work legibly and accurately (e.g. PPM rsquo;s, Quality records, maintenance schedules and return to work forms). * Ensure Positive release and department sign-off is completed as and when required. * The business may setup additional training away from the site that you may be required to attend. * Use of TIMWOODS to identify and Reduce production waste. * Best practices and Health and Safety requirements whilst being on site. About You: * Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship or ONC / HNC Or equivalent in either Mechanical or electrical disciplines or Degree trained. * If none of the above minimum level 3 C G With minimum 5 years in similar industry * Experience within a Maintenance environment. * Strong ability to make logical decisions. * Good Interpersonal and communication skills * Ability to prioritise own workload. * Ability to work under pressure. * Ability to prioritise own workload to achieve operational and personal targets.
