Project manager civil engineering

My client is a long established, leading, Construction and Civil Engineering Consultancy. The company are continually recognised as a world class consultant providing engineering, project and programme management and commercial solutions, to their clients within the energy, infrastructure and Governmental sectors. Providing consistently high results time and time again, they are today supporting many major complex projects and programmes with their skills in commercial and contracts, design and engineering, project delivery and health, safety and environmental services. Due to planned growth and an influx of work in their Southwestern Region, they are looking to appoint, on a permanent or long term contract basis, a Project Manager to work on a major water sector framework. The ideal candidate will be based within a commutable distance from the client #39;s offices in Exeter. The company will be overseeing projects throughout Devon and into Cornwall so it is essential that the ideal candidate resides in one of these Counties. My client would consider those individuals seeking either a permanent or long term contract position. Hybrid working is actively encouraged and 2-3 days of home working will be permitted. Key Responsibilities Management of site staff operatives and sub-contractors. Preparing and monitoring programmes of work Provide method statements, hazard risk assessments and project management plans. Understand tender allowances and monitor contract costs against agreed budgets. Manage design co-ordination. Assessment and engagement of sub-contractors. Understand and administer contract change. Inform, consult, and involve local groups as necessary. Foster good relations and reputation with clients. Promote and ensure all work complies with safety, quality and environmental policies and the requirements of the company procedures. Experienced in people management and motivation of staff. A good organiser, both of self and others with the ability to think in advance. Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK. Due to the nature of the role a full UK driving license is essential and the successful candidate will be happy to travel throughout the Southern Region. A First Aid at Work qualification would also be desirable. Already experienced as a Site Agent / Project Manager you will have a relevant industry qualification (HND/ HNC/ BEng) or equivalent, an up to date SMSTS qualification, and appropriate CSCS card. A First Aid at Work qualification is desirable. The ideal candidate will have water sector project experience. However, those that can demonstrate a strong background in Civil Engineering projects are likely to be of interest.
