Senior Environmental Advisor Are you looking to progress your career by working on Britain rsquo;s biggest construction project? Balfour Beatty VINCI is working with a range of organisations to design and build 90km West Midlands stretch of HS2 - Britain rsquo;s new high speed railway. Our work is essential to enable HS2 trains to travel between London and Birmingham as well as continue their journey up to Manchester. It rsquo;s an incredibly exciting time to join us - we rsquo;re at peak construction with work really ramping up on a broad range of assets including bridges, tunnels and viaducts. Plus you rsquo;d join 9,000 people across 72 nationalities working on this exciting section of HS2 across the region. We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Environmental Advisor within the Environmental Team. This role will be based on site in Water Orton, The project rsquo;s most complex network of structures in the West Midlands, this sublot includes the Delta Junction ndash; a triangular section of the high-speed railway made up of nine precast segmental viaducts, embankments, and other bridging structures, with around 10km of track crossing a network of motorways, roads and rivers. Please note candidates will need to have a current valid right to work in the UK to be considered for this role What you rsquo;ll be doing bull; Responsible for managing the flow of all the relevant environmental information within sub-lots bull; Management of the sublots environmental deliverables review tracker and assets schedule bull; Work closely with the DJV in developing a design that avoids or reduces significant environmental impacts based on Environmental Minimum Requirements (EMR) principles bull; Review of relevant incoming documentation and reports, including EMRs to ensure compliance bull; Ensuring consistency across environmental deliverables, utilising relevant technical and contract guidance and the support of the discipline leads bull; Provide advice and support for the environmental topic leads and engineering team regarding environmental design across the sub-lots (ensuring consistency with Basis of Design, Contract Requirements Technical, TS and CoCP) bull; Attend meetings (external and internal) ndash; weekly and monthly on key environmental topics bull; Contribution of ideas for continuous improvement (making tasks easier, ensuring consistent approach, identification of environmental constraints/opportunities etc) Experience Required bull; Experience of coordinating information across a range of environmental disciplines and understanding the potential for effects on receptors and stakeholders bull; Broad understanding of the planning and implementation of environmental mitigation across disciplines bull; Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team including environmental and engineering specialists bull; Ability and drive to see tasks through to completion bull; Confidence and experience to challenge designs prepared by others Benefits of working with us bull;Access to Employee assistance programmes bull;Annual flu vaccinations bull;Health risk assessments bull;Healthcare bull;Flexible working bull;Enhanced maternity and paternity bull;Excellent pension contributions bull;Travel allowance for eligible candidates bull;Car/ car allowance About Balfour Beatty VINCI Working together for over 30 years, Balfour Beatty VINCI have been successful in delivering several significant infrastructures; creating unrivalled expertise and capability across rail, highways and aviation sectors in the UK and beyond.
