WSR is recruiting for a Hybrid Design Engineer based in Milton Keynes. Salary GBP37K Location: Milton Keynes ndash; hybrid, 2 - 3 days in office Working hours: 8.30am ndash; 5pm Reports to: Group Design Manager Our client, a prominent player in the industrial product and service sector, is currently seeking a dynamic individual to join their team as a mid-level Design Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading company serving the warehousing, logistics, and material handling industry. The hybrid role is based in Milton Keynes and you will be responsible for designing the next generation of safety solutions and mid-life upgrades for our existing products, and customer specific solutions. Reporting to the Group Design Manager and working alongside their customer focused team, you will help drive new impact protection product development with input into all aspects of the design process such as material selection, supplier relations and physical impact testing of products for certification. Responsible for creating 3D CAD models/assemblies, technical drawings and costed BOMs as part of product development and supporting the preparation of evidence for design reviews. Design Engineer Key Responsibilities: * Basic market research and Concept Creation * 3D CAD creation (SolidWorks), Design for Manufacture (DfM) and Design for Assembly (DfA) * Basic Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Basic structural analysis * Designing product components and assemblies using Solidworks and preparing evidence for design reviews * Identifying potential product and/or manufacturing improvements with Design for Manufacturing and Design for Assembly (DfM DfA) * Owning a portfolio of work including new product development Experience Qualifications: Design/Engineering Degree or HND desirable 3-5 years of experience in a design engineering role Enthusiasm and willingness to learn Benefits - Hybrid working ndash; 2/3 days in the office - 23 days of holiday (increasing to 25 after 5 years of service). - Health Care Cash Plan (after probation). - Company sick pay support scheme (after probation). - Employee Assistance Programme (including 1:1 counselling). - Group Life Assurance ndash; 2 x annual salary (after 5 years of service). - PERKS retailer discount scheme.
