Assistant quantity surveyor

This immediate permanent opportunity is with a well established family business that has grown from a small beginning to be a substantial sub-contracting operation throughout the UK. They have worked with many of the largest national Civil Engineering Contractors on projects valued on occasion in excess of GBP100 million. The company has completed small and major projects for a range of clients within the construction industry, projects ranging from Highway works, Environmental, Ground works Civil engineering, Utilities, Private and Public realm and Commercial works. The right candidate will be presentable and confident in their ability as a QS. You must have industry experience working within groundworks, civil engineering and infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: bull;Reviewing budgets and placing orders with Sub-contractors bull; Collaborating with project managers to ensure accurate financial reporting. bull; Evaluating and negotiating sub-contractor and supplier agreements. bull; Monitoring project costs and implementing cost-control measures. bull; Producing regular financial reports for management bull; Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and industry standards. Qualifications and Skills: bull; Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent is preferred. bull; Experience in quantity surveying with JCT / NEC contract knowledge bull; Strong understanding of construction contracts and relevant legislation. bull; Excellent negotiation and communication skills. bull; Proficiency in industry-related software and tools
