Design engineer

It is due to their continuing expansion that they are looking for an enthusiastic Mechanical/Design Engineers with a minimum of 4 years of experience who want to take the next step in their career and further progress up the ladder. In this role the successful candidate will work as part of a team to produce designs for the in:house manufacturing plant. This role will require you to have a Mechanical/design knowledge as well as experience in using CAD software. You will be given full product training to ensure you are familiar with the range of unique products. The Role: * Working as part of an expanding team * Working on a range of light to heavy duty commercial vehicle projects * Identifying customer requirements/ specifications, reproducing these into concept designs * Design of assemblies in 2D/3D ranging from full assembly down to individual parts * Creation of BOM * Liaising with the production on day to day basis * Full product cycle experience from design through to manufacturing The Person: * Experienced with AUTOCAD 2D and INVENTOR 3D package * Will be able to create 2D and 3D drawings * Experienced in designing light/medium sheet metal parts * Experienced in designing machined parts * Experienced in the design of light to heavy metal fabrications * Self:motivated, ideally from a small team background * Hydraulics and pneumatics knowledge (not essential) * Experienced in compiling bills of Materials and liaising with the procurement department * Right first time approach in his work * Computer literate (excel, word, power:point) Salary rate is competitive and negotiable depending on experience and qualifications.
