The Executive Assistant is pivotal within the Institute Executive Office at the Institute of Ophthalmology. The postholder is responsible for providing high level EA support to Institute leadership, including the Director and Institute Manager. This includes working closely with the Institute Executive Team to support the smooth and effective functioning of the Institute. About the role The Executive Assistant is a key member of the Institute Operations Team, providing high level executive support as part of the Institute Executive Office. Working closely with the Institute Director, Institute Manager, Deputy Institute Manager the postholder will provide proactive administrative and operational support across the breadth of the Institute Executive Office’s activities. The role holder will be the first point of contact for the Director’s Office and interacts with many people within and external to UCL; thus a professional attitude, willingness to help, and ability to remain tactful and assertive are required in order to adequately execute the duties outlined. This is a permanent position and the salary is offered at UCL grade 7 (£42,099 - £50,585) About you The successful candidate will have previous experience of providing senior level administrative and secretarial support to individuals in a leadership role operating in a complex organisation. They will have a high level of interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both orally and in writing. A sound knowledge of IT and excellent word-processing skills are also essential, as is experience of managing a busy and complex electronic diary. The postholder is required to work both independently and in collaboration with colleagues within the Institute of Ophthalmology, UCL, and externally.
