Balfour Beatty VINCI is working with a range of organisations to design and build 90km West Midlands stretch of HS2 - Britain rsquo;s new high speed railway.. Our work is essential to enable HS2 trains to travel between London and Birmingham as well as continue their journey up to Manchester. It rsquo;s an incredibly exciting time to join us - we rsquo;re at peak construction with work really ramping up on a broad range of assets including bridges, tunnels and viaducts. Plus you rsquo;d join 9,000 people across 72 nationalities working on this exciting section of HS2 across the region. We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Quality Engineer (M E) within the Route wide delivery team. This role will be based on site in locations around Kingsbury and Lichfield The northernmost site of the West Midlands stretch of HS2 runs from Water Orton to Lichfield. The sites are mainly rural and will link HS2 to the West Coast Mainline track. Role description: To lead the co-ordination, submission, compliance and management of all QA/QC activities and the resolution of QA/QC related issues on the M E aspects of the Buildings. Submissions from the supply chain and establishing test and inspection for delivery of the works. Experienced required: Experience of Major Engineering projects. Knowledge and experience of working to UK and International Standards, and industry Codes of Practice. A formal qualification in Quality Management and Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, e.g. Bachelor or Master rsquo;s Degree. NICEIC qualified and understanding of BS 7671 and Water Industry Mechanical and Electrical Specification. bull; Strong background and experience in Fabrication, Welding and NDE to National and International standards. Competent user of modern office computer systems e.g. Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word, Powerpoint. CSCS Card Holder / SMSTS. We started working together over 30 years ago to deliver the Channel Tunnel, as members of the TransManche Link consortium. In the Midlands, it is Balfour Beatty VINCI rsquo;s role to design and build the route, ready for tracks and signalling to be installed. Our work with HS2 Balfour Beatty VINCI have been awarded a 90km section of the HS2 project from Long Itchington in Warwickshire to the centre of Birmingham and then on to Handsacre in Staffordshire.
