Quantity surveyor

We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor for work in Shetland. Highly Competitive Day Rate. 10 days on 4 days off. Key Responsibilities: Reporting bull; Ensure robust, accurate and timely cost and value reporting at both project and business unit level bull; Ensure accurate cash flow reporting takes place bull; Carry out cost management including forecasting bull; Help ensure that internal commercial processes are adhered to across the business unit bull; Actively seek to improve processes and procedures External relationships bull; Ensure that the supply chain is engaged appropriately with the correct contract terms and conditions bull; Build and maintain good client relationships bull; Be responsible for subcontract letting, negotiation and financial accounting bull; Prepare applications for payment bull; Liaise with the client, client representatives and other third parties on commercial issues, including agreement of variations, claims and additional payments bull; Work with site management to forecast predicted spend and cash recovery and ensure that both are kept in line with the target bull; Share best practices with others and be proactive in advising site teams on costs and management of them Key measures targets: bull; Accurate monthly forecasting bull; Ability to challenge resources and costs bull; Maintain deadlines in line with the monthly commercial calendar Person Specification: The successful candidate is likely to meet the following criteria: Essential bull; Previous experience in the construction industry bull; HND/degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying bull; Familiarity with ICE/NEC forms of contract and knowledge and understanding of Construction Law bull; Ability to demonstrate a good knowledge of monthly reporting and earned value analysis bull; Have knowledge and experience in estimation and cost analysis bull; Excellent communication, numeric and computer literacy skills, proficient in Microsoft Office bull; Excellent organisation and time management skills, with the ability to work to tight deadlines bull; Ability to work effectively in a team and delegate, but also able to work on own initiative
