Purchase ledger clerk

Flint Bishop LLP is a top 200 leading law firm with headquarters based at Pride Park, Derby. The Finance Department is currently recruiting an experienced individual who will be responsible for the Purchase Ledger, initially on a 1 year fixed term contract. The successful candidate will be reporting to the Finance Director and will be required to support with other tasks within the department, as and when necessary. The role is full time, onsite working at our Derby offices at Pride Park, Monday to Friday, 36.25 hours per week. Key Responsibilities * Process a high volume of invoices accurately and efficiently * Create and process bulk payments on a weekly basis * Liaise with suppliers ndash; answering queries and raising questions as necessary * Process expense claims and credit card statements for the firm * Manage the petty cash * Ensure invoices are authorised and booked promptly once received * Process daily bank statements * Perform month end tasks ndash; bank reconciliation / journals / reporting * Assist with ad hoc tasks and reporting as necessary Skills, Knowledge and Expertise You will: * Have previous experience in a Purchase Ledger, with a sound knowledge of VAT * Have good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook * Have experience with an online banking system * Have the ability to learn quickly and be flexible with their approach to work * Be highly self-motivated and comfortable with regular deadlines * Be able to multi-task and prioritise their workload * Be numerate and highly accurate with their work * Be hard working and be a good team player * Have excellent communications skills Disclosure will be required in the event that a position is offered.
