Design manager

Overview We are currently sourcing for an experienced Design Manager to join our clients existing team in WF14. Our client is one of the largest privately owned manufacturers of offsite engineered buildings in the UK, providing the widest range of solutions to meet all of their customers need from design, manufacturing to construction. With their sectors being across healthcare, site accommodation, industrial commercial and education we are looking for design manager that is able to take to each tailored and bespoke project. Responsibilities: * Work with our CAD designers and appointed architects for the efficient design of modular buildings * Communicate with client throughout the design and revision process, overseeing Design management on all projects from conception to completion. * Train and develop the team, as the company continues to grow. * Coordinate outsourced designers and engineers. * Work with our CAD designers to continually improve design processes and procedures. * Work with our CAD designers to maintain and design processes in line with Company QA systems. * Be involved with project specific design issues, proposing practicable and buildable solutions. * Attend pre-construction and design development meetings. * Liaise closely with site-based project teams. * Manage compliance checks against specification and client requirements. * Manage design output to agreed programmes and ensure the flow of work is maintained. * Provide primary design oversight across multiple projects, including co-ordination with Manufacturing and Project Team/Managers, to facilitate the timely completion of design information to meet internal and external design programme targets. * Ensure Design Risk Assessments are created and appropriately maintained for each project in a timely manner and CDM requirements. * Prioritise and programme workload in line with project programmes. * Work with internal external designers when required. * Support, guide coach other members of the design team as when require. * Ensure deadlines are met for each project to an agreed quality level and on time in full. * Develop and find new materials when required that add to our project design. Ideal Candidate. * Design experience within Modular construction * Strong Leadership Skills/Excellent Communication skills * Qualified to Degree or HND/HNC level, ideally structural, civil or architectural background or engineering/construction discipline. * Proficient in AutoCAD detailing, Revit Modelling and a good understanding of MS Office/Outlook * Previous experience working within a design role in a construction/modular business. * Knowledge of Building Regulations, HTM rsquo;s, HBN rsquo;s, BB rsquo;s etc. * Previous experience of managing members of a design team, including the allocation and monitoring of design workload, as well as overseeing individuals rsquo; personal development
