Senior buyer

Senior Buyer ndash; Stockport - GBP35k-GBP41k I have just spoken with a client this afternoon based just outside Stockport who are an established preferred supplier in manufacturing and are looking to recruit a Senior Tactical Buyer to help facilitate further business growth. This role will form a vital part of the overall growth and development of the Supply Chain department and there is plenty of scope for making positive changes that will greatly benefit the business. This is an established company who have a sterling reputation in the Oil Gas industry and you will work alongside an experienced team of Buyers and a Purchasing Manager who will actively guide you through personal development. The day to day role will included but is not limited to: - * Source components and RAW material for subcontract manufacturing. * Extract drawings, part reports, from engineering drawings and database information to compile technical RFQ for Tier 2 suppliers and OEM part manufacturers. * Interrogate complex bills of material making judgements on purchase versus manufacture in conjunction with the manufacturing team. * Working closely with the sales team on competitive parts pricing. * Allocating appropriate part numbers and raising PO rsquo;s from requisitions whilst considering savings prior to ordering via ERP system. * To ensure there is a continuous supply of materials and services to enable all delivery objectives to be achieved in the most cost effective and timely manner. Candidates must have the following experience: - * Purchasing experience in an engineering / mechanical environment * Capable of reading a technical drawing. * Be capable of maintaining multiple ongoing project and keeping operational materials availability to the shop floor. Salary on offer is between GBP35k-GBP41k, working hours will be 39 hours per week and the package includes a contributory pension, 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), cycle to work scheme, onsite parking, 3x Life Assurance, Employee Assistance Programme. Working hours are Monday-Thursday 8am-4:30pm and Friday 8am-3:30pm. I am conducting telephone interviews for anyone interested in the role from now.
