The Role The Council are looking to recruit an exceptionally talented procurement professional to join their Commercial Hub. Key Responsibilities * As Category Lead, you will lead on the procurement of contracts across Childrens, Adults and Resources Directorate. * You will be supported by experienced Commercial Managers with knowledge and experience of contracts across categories of spend within your portfolio. * You will combine excellent technical skills with outstanding relationship management that will support delivery of the Councils Commercial Strategy * In addition to being professionally skilful and commercially astute, you will also need to demonstrate a successful record of partnership working in multi:disciplinary teams, including consultation and negotiation. Skills and Qualifications * Have commercial expertise in complex, large scale and high value public procurement * Have experience and be familiar with the use of Frameworks, Dynamic Purchasing Systems and traditional procurement procedures * Have detailed understanding of public procurement regulations * Have experience of tendering contracts across multiple categories of spend * Be MCIPS qualified or have other relevant professional qualifications or alternative experience * Champion best procurement practice across the Council * Be a confident communicator with proven relationship management skills and customer focus.
