Design Engineer Salary: GBP28,000 - GBP38,000+ depending on experience Hours: Monday ndash; Thursday 07.30 ndash; 16.30 Friday 07.30 ndash; 12.30 Location: Bristol Benefits * 25 days holidays * 4 x life Assurance * Pension Scheme * 2 weeks paid paternity leave * 6 months full pay maternity leave * EAP and Mental Health First Aiders Our client, a successful specialist vehicle manufacturer is currently recruiting for 2 Design Engineers to join their team. 1 Junior 1 mid-senior. Summary of Role Working in the Engineering Team as part of the Product Design Department this role will support the introduction of new leisure vehicle designs from initial concept through to production and be pro-active in the continuous improvement of products and processes. Specific Responsibilities * The design of caravan, van conversion and motorhome interior and exterior parts (from modelling to manufacture) * Detailed design of interior furniture, and integration of heating, water, gas, and electrical systems, with consideration of Design for Manufacture principles. * Work with the Prototype team to create Mock-up and Prototype parts to prove concept. * Work with the Manufacturing and Pre-Production teams to ensure a smooth transition into production. * Liaise with suppliers and communicate effectively with functions outside the Product Development Team * Utilise evaluation techniques to determine the best design solution. * Understanding and prioritise work to fit with the overall project plan * Work within the project guidelines and metrics (outline in Project Brief) * Actively participate and in some instances lead design reviews * Attend industry shows. * Working within the guidelines of Departmental and Company: Policies, Procedures and Work Instructions. Requirements . Preferably with a minimum of 3 year rsquo;s relevant design or engineering experience. Specific Technical Competencies/Skills: * Knowledge of 3D CAD (preferably Solidworks) * Knowledge of manufacturing processes including CNC routing, vac forming, Extruding injection moulding * Working with multi-disciplinary teams * Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate technical issues. * Analytical problem solver * Positive and productive team player * Demonstrable ability to manage time and prioritise tasks * Familiar with the creation and interpretation of manufacturing drawings to BS8888 * Familiarity with Microsoft Office Please call Suzanne on (phone number removed) or submit your CV
