Based from the UK or Ireland you will be employed as the Head of Safety. Providing occupational safety leadership to all projects across Europe, UK Caribbean. The desire is for someone with prior International Experience for a Tier 1 Main Contractor be that Build or Civil Engineering works. DESCRIPTION Global Head of Safety you will be providing occupational safety leadership to all projects across Europe, UK Caribbean. Reporting into the Director of the group you will have full autonomy for your department. Absolutely critical that you gain the same buy in and ethos from the Project Directors Operations Manager that the current incumbent has successfully achieved. In the past there was a ldquo;them and us rdquo; between projects and the safety team and that cannot and will not be the case as we are one business all driving forward to deliver a top project successfully and SAFELY! Employer T/over GBP370 Million across 3 Civil Engineering Sectors. These sectors being Military, Aviation , Energy General Infrastructure. A small project could be GBP15 Million. Largest on site at present being a 5 Year Framework worth euro;260 Million. Successfully delivered civil engineering works on 37% of the Top 50 European Airports. Scope of works could range from airside works, resurfacing of existing runways, new runways, AGL ,drainage, taxiways, earthworks , pavement works, piling , shaft sinking , asphalt , concrete sub-structures , pre-cast , ancillary buildings, hangar buildings so on. Due to the nature of the works you will have to be comfortable undergoing a security check to work behind the wire and get into a ldquo;LIVE Airport rdquo; environment rdquo;. Range of aspects covered in the role * Presentations to prospective clients at pre award * Leading health and safety processes including: Hazard Analysis, Standard Operating Procedures, Training, Contractor Health and Safety Requirements and Programme, Management of Change, and accident and Incident Investigation * Providing routine inspections of work locations to ensure compliance. * Formulating Company HSSE strategies, policies, practices and procedures that are aligned to legislative requirements and best industry international standards. * Establishing processes for effective HSE management of sub-contractors agency staff working on our sites. * Pushing UK Safety standards across the Globe so International clients can be confident of the levels Culture Work hard play hard. Client wants Someone with a proactive, can do attitude that can build teams, client face and sustain long term relationships Prepared to roll the sleeves up and set the standards from the front Travel to meet business needs this may well be on the road for a week and then no travel for 2 weeks its very much dependent upon the business workload and critical aspects needed. Simply put if you need to be home every night at 6pm for a Place in the Sun it may not be for you. You won rsquo;t be micromanaged as your a senior professional but you are taking over from someone that was very diligent and proactive to know his team and get across the projects. This is not the role for someone pointing the finger used to managing large teams. You will have a Safety Advisor / Manager sat on each of the 12 Projects. You will be expected to build relationships and understand your team and there capabilities , strengths and weaknesses. What they do NOT want ! * Client side / PMC experience as much as this role is Global it is still very much at the coalface getting on site. * Someone precious about travel and being away is not going to work long term in this role. * No EGO rsquo;s hellip;.No i in TEAM ! Experience Qualifications * NEBOSH * 10 + Years Boots on the ground experience operating for a relevant Main Contractor or Sub-Contractor in a Leadership role * Experience of Civil Engineering Works be that self delivered or sub-contracted * CV that shows longevity and loyalty . Benefits * Basic Salary Range is up to GBP95,000 and there will be an annual pay review * Bonuses are paid and generally range from anywhere up to 25% of your annual salary if not more * All travel paid be that internal or external flights accommodation .
