Mechanical fitter vehicles engines

Job title: Mechanical Fitter. Job location: Burton upon Trent Shifts: Days only. Salary: Doe Hours per week: 44. Hours: 7am to 5pm Monday to Thursday, 7am to 1pm on Friday. Duration: contract to start. Start date: immediate. Client Summary: Leading manufacturer and front line supplier of powertrain products based in the UK and Ireland. Areas of expertise include Engine Overhaul, final Drive Overhaul and locomotive refurbishment. Position Summary: Stripping Rafts / building transmissions within the Rail industry. You will be working in teams to breakdown mechanical systems on to locomotive rafts and rebuild. Roles can include: * Engine strip down or strip down of components and rebuild. * Fitting newly re-furbished engines back onto the rafts including all components that service that service and help the running of the engine, radiators, pumps, tanks, pipe work, electrical looms and more. * To have a good understanding of vehicle mechanical interfaces and repairs of vehicle components. * To be able to install / repair hydraulic systems. * Previous engine knowledge would be advantageous. * To overhaul of raft components. * To be able to understand schematic drawings. * To undertake training as and when required. * To work within a realistic timeframe. * To mentor trainees / apprentices when applicable. * To ensure that waste is disposed of in the correct manner. Person Profile/Experience: * A strong mechanical background is required. * People from HGV / large engine #39;s / rolling stock assembly backgrounds ideal. * Understanding of engines / hydraulics / pneumatics in plant or heavy good ideal. * Good attitude and willing to work flexibly (overtime available) Qualifications: * Relevant engineering qualifications but not a necessity for an experienced person email me on (url removed) for salary details
