Health safety and environmental advisor

Ref 10700 Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor Mansfield, Nottinghamshire GBP36,500 plus yearly bonus, pension, free parking and family days Our client, a food manufacturing company based near Mansfield, are looking to appoint a Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor to join their company on a permanent basis. We are looking for someone with experience within HSE and passion to drive forward and implement change. Key responsibilities: * Provide support, information, advice and guidance at all levels within the company on health, safety and welfare policies and procedures relevant to the areas in which they are working * Continuously improve Health and Safety policies to meet changes and implement new control measures. * Evaluate and monitor Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to ensure proper use, maintenance, testing and storage. * Establish and maintain a regular HS E presence on the manufacturing floor to provide direct access to support. * Ensure that suitable and sufficient risk assessments and action plans are in place for all foreseeable hazards and safety related issues to promote and raise awareness * Deliver and/or coordinate Health and Safety training courses * Organise and monitor Health and Safety audits * Ensure that effective documentation with respect to policies and procedures are in place, ensuring compliance with Health and Safety legislation. * Investigate and report on accidents, incidents and near misses * Ensure contractors and the associated HS E management processes (including contractor supplied RAMS) are relevant, maintained and being adhered to. * Maintain and develop Environmental Management System * Participate in controls of waste, recycling, energy efficiency Key skills and experience: * A background in HSE is essential ideally gained within manufacturing, FMCG or engineering * Trained to NEBOSH general certificate or equivalent * Interpersonal skills to advise and influence across all levels of the business * Professional communicational skills, both written and verbal (Including presentation skills) * Strong IT skills including MS Office Suite * Must be highly organised with excellent time keeping skills10700 * Confident decision maker * Determined and resilient This vacancy is being advertised by Fresh Start Recruitment (UK) who are acting as an Employment Agency.
